Using Doubles

 

What is a double

     A double is a number sentence in which you are adding the same number to itself.

           For example:  1+1=2 is a double because you are adding the number one to itself.

     If you know the doubles, this will help you figure out other number sentences more easily.

Answer

1 + 1 = 2
2 + 2 = 4
3 + 3 = 6
4 + 4 = 8
5 + 5 = 10
6 + 6 = 12
7 + 7 = 14
8 + 8 = 16
9 + 9 = 18
10 + 10 = 20

     Notice that the answers are really just skip counting by two's!

If you know your doubles, then you will be able to remember the answers to those number sentences that are doubles plus one.
