Mathematical Relationships

 

 

Remember:

  • Subtraction is the opposite of addition.

  • Addition and subtraction fact families have 2 addition problems and 2 subtraction problems.

  • You can use a hundred chart to add and subtract.

Write the subtraction number sentences to complete the fact families on a piece of paper. Then click on the drop down arrow to check your answer.

2 + 4 = 6
4 + 2 = 6

 

3 + 6 = 9
6 + 3 = 9

 

 

5 + 7 = 12
7 + 5 = 12
 



8 + 7= 15
7 + 8 = 15
 

 

 

Use the hundred chart to add and subtract. Then click the down arrows to check your answers. Remember:

          When you count down 1 square you add 10.
          When you count up 1 square you subtract 10.
          When you count one square to the right you add 1.
          When you count one square to the left you subtract 1.
