Knowing Subtraction  Patterns
can help you find the difference.

Let's Remember:
Subtraction is when you take away
from a total,
to make a new number.

  Examples:

                            Input Subtraction Machine

Input           -                        =        Output

10              -

=        6

   8              -

=        4

6            -

=        2

In order to get the answers we got in the Output,
the Input Machine must be -4

No matter what you put into this machine,
the answer (output) will always
4 LESS
than the Input.

This would be an example of a
                  -4 Subtraction Pattern because
:

10 - 4= 6         8 - 4= 4         6 - 4= 2

  Input Subtraction Machine
Input         -                       =       Output

15              -

9

12              -

6

9             -

3

In order to get the answers we got in the Output here,
the Input Machine must be -6

No matter what you put into this machine,
the answer (output) will always
6 LESS
than the Input.

This would be an example of a
                   -6 Subtraction Pattern because
:

15 - 6= 9         12 - 6= 6         9 - 6= 3
