Political cartoons are drawn to show the reader how the artist who created it feels about a topic or issue. In the cartoon things often have different meanings that sometimes take careful study to understand. This cartoon called "The Horse AMERICA, Throwing His Master," shows a horse bucking a man off of his back while another man carrying a flag with 13 stars runs into the picture.

The cartoon was drawn during the American Revolution. The British-controlled colonies in  America wanted their freedom and an end to British rule.
