You are in the California Gold Rush!

Let's travel westward to California in the year 1848. There you will see what life is like when the demand for goods, such as supplies and food, is much greater than the available supply.

            You have left home to join hundreds of other gold seekers
            in the hills of California. You have brought your supplies
            and food with you. When you reach your destination, you
            are amazed at what you find.

At the end of the trip, you will have a chance to "Pass the Test of Time," and see if you can remember what happened to prices when the demand is greater than the supply.
