Paul Revere, a Boston silversmith, became an American hero by courageously riding out into the night to warn the colonial militia that the British were coming.  British troops were marching out of Boston to seize patriot  weapons and ammunition stored in Concord.  They also intended to capture two well-known patriot leaders.
