South American Facts
South America is the fourth largest continent.
The equator crosses South America
It houses the world’s largest rainforest.
The world’s longest mountain chain is located there.  
The Amazon River is the second largest river in the world and has
more water than any other river in the world.
There are 12 countries plus one state in South America.  French
Guiana is a state belonging to France.
Many animals and many native tribes live in the rainforest.
